The Budget Contour Kit

Contouring is one of those things that has slowly made it's way into my daily makeup routine, whether I'm going for NARS Sheer Glow as an everyday base or Giorgio Armarni Luminous Silk for an evening look, I always add a bit of contour to give those cheek bones were all after. When the wonderful Anastasia Contour Kit made it's way into my beauty stash, I was so excited to finally be able to sculpt my face and didn't think there was another product out there as buttery, blend-able and natural looking as it. That was where I was wrong... The Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit * is an awesome dupe of the Anastasia kit, just 6 less shades, but let me tell you why...

Firstly the packaging... just as I expected; a sleek, matte black, slim case with a decent sized compact mirror which I do love in a palette as it makes it perfect for on the go application or if I'm feeling lazy and apply my makeup in bed (We've all done it).

Moving onto the powders themselves, they tick all the right boxes of being blend-able, pigmented, long lasting, light and not at all patchy. With a cool toned, matte contour shade and a light yellow toned powder, this is a great alternative to the Anastasia palette as sometimes you don't need all 6 shades. For an everyday contour I lightly dust the contour shade in my cheek bones with an angled brush to add a bit of extra definition. Due to how blend-able the powders are, you can build this up for a strong contour evening look or keep it natural in the day. In terms of the highlight shade, I use it to set my under eye concealer as to highlight my cheek bones I prefer something with some shimmer in. The light powder is really finely milled, meaning it doesn't stick to my concealer or cake under the eye, it presses everything into place for a flawless finish.

This really is a must have palette. Yes, it isn't the whole Kim K contoured look, but on a day to day basis who has the time to use a number of concealers in different shades to create the perfect sculpted face? Not me, so this is a much easier option. As for the price, coming in at an affordable £5.99, you cannot go wrong.

What products do you use to fake those cheekbones?
